Uwe Optenhögel is Vice-President of the Foundation for European Progressive Studies. He is a political scientist and economist. Uwe worked 20 years of his professional career in different countries of the global south and the global north as representative of Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation, political analyst and consultant to a broad range of public and private organizations. In the early 2000s he was International Director of FES. He is an expert on European and International Politics, Security and Defence policy and the Role of Think-Tanks and Foundations. As of 2017 Uwe is publisher at the traditional German publishing House J.H.W. Dietz-Verlag.
