Carys Roberts is the executive director of IPPR, leading the institute’s strategy and its senior management team since 2020. Prior to this role, Carys Roberts led IPPR’s work on how to hardwire the UK economy for prosperity and justice, as chief economist and as lead analyst for the IPPR Commission on Economic Justice. Her research interests include wealth inequality, fiscal policy and labour markets. She regularly provides expert commentary on national broadcast media; past appearances have included BBC Today programme, Channel 4 News, LBC Cross Question and BBC Newsnight. She has written for a range of online and print publications, including the Guardian, Prospect, and IPPR Progressive Review, of which she was a founding editor.
