Bill Peduto served as Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh from January 2014 to January 2022. Prior to taking office, he served on the Pittsburgh City Council for 19 years and authored major legislative packages to reform Pittsburgh's government. As Mayor,Bill Peduto has worked to improve Pittsburgh's reputation by significantly increasing transparency in the use of taxpayer dollars and taking a leadership role in green initiatives to combat climate change. The Peduto administration focused on the city's energy security, particularly through district energy production, and reaffirmed Pittsburgh's commitment to the Paris Agreement. Following his term as Mayor of Pittsburgh, Bill Peduto served as the Distinguished Executive in Residence at the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy from April 2022 to March 2023. *online participation
