Anna Lührmann

Minister of State for Europe and Climate at the Federal Foreign Office, Germany

Anna Lührmann has been Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office since December 2021. She is also a member of the German Bundestag for Alliance 90/The Greens. Anna Lührmann was Deputy Director of the Varieties of Democracy Institute and junior professor at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden from 2018 to 2021. Previously, she provided electoral and parliamentary consultation for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Sudan and consultation for the UNDP Democratic Governance Group on youth participation. Anna Lührmann holds a Master’s degree and doctorate in politics from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin on the subject of promoting democracy.
