From Anxiety to Action: Empowering Youth and Democratic Participation in the Fight against the Climate Crisis

21 June | 11:00 – 12:15 (CEST) | Forum

About the Session

Younger millennials and G-Zers hold a different view of the world than the older generation. In the light of growing economic insecurities and the severely worsening effects of the climate crisis, they are more sceptical and pessimistic about the future. In order to prevent the younger generation from losing faith in democracy, it is crucial to inspire them with a positive vision, hear their voices and actively involve them in politics.
This session aims at deepening the understanding of climate anxiety and seeks to find ways of how to enlighten participants with solutions for climate action and democratic engagement. The multifaceted conversation between science, activism and politics will explore strategies how to turn anxiety into hope and resilience.
