Ruxandra Ivan is State Counsellor for European Affairs to the Prime Minister of Romania and Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Bucharest. She teaches courses on international politics, Romanian foreign policy, theories of international relations and EU policies. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Romanian Academy, Iași branch. She has also worked as an expert at the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in Romania (2007), as a researcher at the Romanian Diplomatic Institute (2008-2015), as an advisor to the Romanian Government (2016-2017) and to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2017-2018, 2022).
